Update: training of navigators and coordinators in Poland

Last week the Polish team completed a two-day training of navigators and their coordinators.

The workshop covered the most important topics, like understanding the navigator’s role, addressing problems related to quality of life, patient advocacy, creating and maintaining good relations within communities, active engagement and mobile navigation. Our trainer, Justyna, who is a clinical psychologist with extensive practical experience in palliative and end-of-life care, emphasized the role of negative emotions and discussed the most difficult scenarios that might occur while visiting the patients.

We would like to thank our team of navigators, who were not only highly engaged in training but also provided a lot of practical knowledge and experience from the social work field.

After the training, the group evaluated the workshop and individual readiness to take on navigator and coordinator roles. Their feedback will allow us to address the remaining points, send additional materials and prepare the next training and supervision sessions.

We welcome their first impressions of their role as navigators!
